Single-day cruises available from West Palm Beach area

Q: My wife and I will be in West Palm Beach, Fla., between Christmas and New Year's. Are there any single-day cruises from that area?

A: Palm Beach Cruise Line offers coastline cruises and %o excursions to Freeport, the Bahamas, out of West Palm Beach. The Freeport trips run on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to midnight and include three meals. The price of the weekday cruises is $79 a person plus $24 port tax; the Saturday cruise is $89 plus $24 tax.

On Christmas Day, a Saturday, the line will run a coastline cruise from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. instead of the Freeport cruise. The price will be $29 a person plus $9 port tax.

The rest of the year the coastline cruises operate on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight, Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The day cruises and the Wednesday night cruises are $39 a person plus $9 port tax. The Friday night trips cost $49 a person plus $9 port tax, and the Sunday trips are $59 plus $9 tax.

A breakfast and a lunch buffet are served on the day cruises, a sit-down dinner is served on the Wednesday evening trip, a sit-down dinner and a midnight buffet are served on the Friday evening trip, and a champagne brunch and a lunch buffet are served on the Sunday trips.
