Evans, Cornett help Suns top Crawdads

HICKORY, N.C. -- Tom Evans drove in three runs and Brad Cornett pitched a five-hitter, leading the Hagerstown Suns (39-31) to a 6-1 victory over the Hickory Crawdads (25-44) in a Single-A South Atlantic League game last night.

Cornett (10-8), a right-hander, walked one and struck out five. The only run Cornett allowed was a sixth-inning home run by Nerio Rodguirez. The Suns scored three runs in the fourth, getting a two-run double from Evans and a RBI single by Angel Martinez.

Martinez, went 2-for-4 with two RBI and Santiago Henry went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 18 games.
