Area schools welcome new faculty, staff NORTH COUNTY

A big welcome back to the many teachers who serve in our community. And a warm hello to the new people working with our children.

* Park Elementary School: Nancy Rueter, full-time guidance counselor; Bonnie Reese, part-time assistant principal; Nina Ratcliff, secretary; and Hope Church, full-time health assistant.

* Belle Grove Elementary School: Dr. Donald Wagoner, principal; Alison Durell, third- and fourth-grade teacher; Cynthia Moore, psychologist; Dr. Ruth Brooks, pupil personnel; Aileen Radinsky, counselor; Tamara Janoskie, physical education; Debbie Steigar, registered nurse; and Kathy Fry, licensed practical nurse.

Come celebrate Sunday School Rally Day at St. John Lutheran Church, 226 Washburn Ave., at 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 12 in the church sanctuary.

The staff for 1993-94 will be installed and fifth-graders will receive Bibles. All pupils will be assigned to classes and receive a Parish Education Month grab bag.

New pupils are invited to register in the Sunday School office at 9:30 a.m. Classes are offered for age 3 through grade 6, confirmation classes for grades 6 and 7, and an adult Bible study. For more information, call 355-7295.

* St. John Christian Day School is accepting students for the 1993-94 school year. Pre-schoolers (ages 4 and 5) and grades 1 through 6 are being accepted. A before and after school day care program is also available. For more information, call Mary Wright at 355-7296.

Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Church, 110 Townsend Ave., will host Christian Education Sunday on Sept. 12. Sunday School classes are available for ages 2 through adult, and nursery care is provided for infants. Classes are from 9:40 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.

The Belle Grove Improvement Association will resume its monthly meetings on community issues beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Belle Grove Elementary School, 4502 Belle Grove Road.

North County High School: School will begin on Sept. 13, with a staggered opening to provide students an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new building.

Ninth- and 10th-graders will start on Sept. 13 and 11th and 12th-graders will attend Sept. 14. All students will report to classes on Sept. 15.

Orientation will take place next week as follows:

* Ninth-graders, 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

* Tenth-graders, 7 p.m. on Thursday.

* Eleventh-graders, at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

* Twelfth-graders, at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. on Thursday.

The Arundel Improvement Association will sponsor a "Get Acquainted" town meeting for Congressman Wayne Gilchrest at p.m. on Sept. 13 at the AIA Hall, 705 Cross St. The public is invited.

The county Department of Recreation and Parks will be offering bio-aerobics at Belle Grove Elementary School beginning Sept. 13. Classes will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays for eight weeks. The cost is $45.50.
