Robber takes $22 from store, checks for more

A man who robbed a Brooklyn Park convenience store yesterday morning apparently wasn't satisfied with his $22 take, so he double-checked the register to make sure it was empty, county police said.

Finding no more money, the man, who indicated he had a gun, left the 7-Eleven store in the 5600 block of Ritchie Highway.

Police said the man walked into the convenience store about 4:10 a.m., approached the counter with both hands in his pockets and said, "This is a holdup, give me all the money."

The clerk gave the man $22, but the robber did not leave until he saw the empty cash register.

He is described as a white man in his 30s with short brown hair and a brownish-blond mustache. He was wearing a red baseball cap, blue jeans and a black T-shirt. He did not display a gun.
