Satre, Baysox shut down Red Sox, 4-1

NEW BRITAIN, CONN — NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- Jason Satre pitched a three-hitter and Bo Ortiz drove in a pair of runs, leading the Bowie Baysox to a 4-1 victory over New Britain Red Sox in a Double-A Eastern League game last night.

Satre (7-3) faced only 29 batters and allowed a third-inning home run to Boo Moore. Ortiz gave the Baysox a 2-1 lead with a single that scored Gregg Zaun and Tim Holland.

In the fifth, Jeffrey Hammonds walked and scored on a double by Brent Miller. Hammonds drove the final Baysox run on a double, scoring Brad Tyler, who opened the inning with a walk.

Hammonds ended his rehabilitation with the Baysox going 2-for-12 with a double, a stolen base and two RBI in three games.
