N. County High to start classes on Sept. 13

North County High School will open for classes Sept. 13, school officials announced yesterday.

Ninth- and 10th-graders at the school should report for classes Sept. 13, and 11th- and 12th-graders on Sept. 14. Classes begin at 7:30 a.m.

Vo-tech students attending North County should not report to classes until Sept. 13, school spokeswoman Jane Doyle said, even though students at other schools will have been in class since Sept. 1. And while other schools will open two hours late Sept. 15, North County students should report at the regular 7:30 a.m. starting time.

The 2-year-old North County High School is moving from its temporary quarters in the former Lindale Middle School building to the former Andover High School on Hammonds Ferry Road.

Brooklyn Park house raided for drugs

County police seized an unspecified amount of suspected PCP during a raid Saturday on a Brooklyn Park home neighbors alleged was a haven for drug dealers.

According to the police report, officers began watching the house in the 700 block of Old Riverside Drive Aug. 12 after receiving numerous complaints from neighbors.

They watched several people go in and out of the home, then later stopped them for traffic violations.

During the traffic stops, they arrested Charles Thiele Jr., 46, of the 400 block of Glenmar Road in Glen Burnie, and Joseph Linkewicz Jr., of the 300 block of First Ave. in Baltimore, on charges of possession withintent to distribute PCP.

They also arrested Keith Kelly, 31, of the 4400 block of Annapolis Road, on charges of possession of marijuana, and Richard Wright, 30, of the 2700 block of Yarnall Road, charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Police then obtained a search warrant for the home and conducted the raid about 7:40 p.m. They confiscated suspected liquid PCP, drug paraphernalia and $2,313.

Police arrested Harold Scott Collison, 33, who lives at the house, on charges of possession with intent to distribute PCP and possession of PCP, and Jamie Grace Hurley, 22, of the 1000 block of Arion Park Road in Baltimore, on charges of possession of PCP.
