Two men were being held in the Howard County Detention Center last night, charged with the armed robbery of another man in a Jessup motel room early yesterday morning.
Donald Wayne Jackson, 30, of the 9500 block of Murkick Road in Laurel, was being held on $150,000 bail. Trevor Michael Butler, 29, of the 8300 block of Pioneer Drive in Severn, was held on $100,000 bond. Police did not identify the victim.
Both men were charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, theft, assault and a handgun violation. They are scheduled for a bond review hearing today in the Howard County District Court in Ellicott City.
Police said the two men visited the victim, an acquaintance, about 4:30 a.m. yesterday at a room in the Cedar Motel in the 8000 block of Washington Blvd. One of the suspects lifted his shirt and displayed a handgun tucked in his waistband, before demanding the victim's $400.
The two men took the money and drove away.
The victim identified the pair after they were stopped by Laurel city police a short time later.
