* The Rev. Edward L. R. Elson,The Rev. Edward L. R. Elson, 86, chaplain of the Senate from 1969 to 1981 and a former pastor to President Dwight D. Eisenhower, died Wednesday of congestive heart failure and complications from Parkinson's disease at the Presbyterian Home in Washington. He baptized and confirmed President Eisenhower shortly after he took office in 1953. President Eisenhower attended Mr. Elson's National Presbyterian Church throughout his eight years in the White House. Mr. Elson became pastor of National Presbyterian in 1946 after World War II service as an Army chaplain.

* Boris G. Moishezon,Boris G. Moishezon, 55, a mathematics professor at Columbia University in New York who defected from the Soviet Union in 1972 and came to the United States five years later, died Wednesday after suffering a heart attack while jogging. He was among the foremost experts in algebraic geometry and belonged to a contingent of intellectuals who felt their Jewishness barred them from Russia's top echelons, especially in mathematics and physics.
