Jumpers Hole Road work discussed

Members of the Greater Severna Park Council's public works committee have met with Councilwoman Diane Evans and area community representatives to discuss planned improvements for Jumpers Hole Road, dropped earlier this year from the county budget because of escalating costs.

The county is planning to ask the Army Corps of Engineers if it can adjust requirements for the expensive wetlands bridging needed for road improvements, GSPC Public Works Chairman Dan Nataf said.

In other public works news, the Crain West community has requested a traffic light with a southbound left-turn arrow for the intersection of West Benfield Road and Veterans Highway. The traffic light could revert to a blinker during nonpeak traffic hours.

Crain West also requested a 40 mph speed limit on Veterans Highway between Route 178 and Benfield Boulevard.
