Coolbaugh, Suns beat Hornets, 9-3

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Mike Coolbaugh doubled in two runs in the second inning and one in the third to spark the Hagerstown Suns to a 9-3 victory over the Greensboro Hornets in a Single-A South Atlantic League game last night.

The division-leading Suns (36-25) scored four runs in the second and three in the third. Lou Benbow hit a sacrifice fly in the second and Kris Harmes hit his 13th homer, a bases-empty shot, in the third.

Jose Silva (11-4) went six innings for the win and Derek Brandow earned his fifth save by striking out two in three innings.

Joe Long (6-4) took the loss.
