William McKechnie Chef and caterer

August 22, 1993

William Joseph McKechnie, a chef and caterer who had worked in many Baltimore restaurants, died Thursday after a heart attack at his Halstead Road home.

The 40-year-old Baltimore resident became interested in cuisine at an early age.

"He has always been a cook," said Susan Tucker, his sister. "He made holiday celebrations wonderful."

After graduating from Charlotte Hall Military Academy in St. Mary's County, Mr. McKechnie took courses at Essex Community College.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Towson Presbyterian Church, 400 W. Chesapeake Ave.

He is survived by his wife, Iam Hodge; his father, Dr. Joseph McKechnie; and two sisters, Susan Tucker and Leigh Farrell, all of Baltimore.
