Tara A. Gladden High school sophomore

Tara Allison Gladden, 15, a sophomore at Atholton High School in Columbia, was found dead Tuesday in Columbia after she had been missing since July 22. A cause of death has not yet been determined, police said.

Educated in Howard County public schools, Tara previously attended Wilde Lake High School.

Tara was a native of Cockeysville and moved with her family to Columbia 13 years ago.

Her interests included dance and soccer, which she played while attending Wilde Lake High School.

William Ermatinger, an uncle of Tara's, said she was interested in pursuing a career that involved animals.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center, The Meeting House, 5885 Robert Oliver Place in Columbia.

Tara is survived by her parents, John Scott Gladden and Johanna Gladden of Columbia; a brother, Shawn Gladden of Columbia; her grandparents, Robert and Dolores Gladden of Baltimore and Wallace and Virginia Lookingland of Baltimore; a great-grandmother, Hazel B. Gladden of Baltimore; and a great-grandfather, Frank J. Mazzone of Baltimore.

The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Maryland SPCA of Baltimore Inc., 3300 Falls Road, Baltimore, 21211; or The Tara Gladden Scholarship Fund, c/o Backstage Dance Studio, 10449 Green Mountain Circle, Columbia, 21044.
