August 22, 1993|By Knight-Ridder News Service

A free "passport" good for discounts at more than 60 Los Angeles-area arts venues is available from the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau. Taking part are a wide variety of arts organizations, such as the Los Angeles Opera, the Botanical Gardens and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Discounts vary, but most involve price reductions of up to 20 percent or two-for-one ticket deals. The passport, which is good through April 30, can be picked up at several arts councils, at Avis and Hilton sites, or from the Visitors Bureau at 633 W. Fifth St., Los Angeles, Calif. 90071; phone (213) 689-8822.
