6-run sixth sparks Suns to 11-1 win

HAGERSTOWN -- The Hagerstown Suns scored six times in the sixth inning en route to an 11-1 victory over the Hickory (N.C.) Crawdads last night in a Single-A South Atlantic League game.

It was the Suns' first win in five home games against the Crawdads.

Hagerstown (31-23) sent 10 batters to the plate in the sixth to pull ahead, 8-1. Tom Evans hit his first career grand slam and sixth homer of the season in the inning.

Andy Dolson (9-10) pitched seven innings while allowing five hits and no earned runs. Crawdads starter Andy McCormick (3-6) took the loss, giving up seven earned runs and eight hits over 5 1/3 innings.
