FIRE

* Mount Airy: Engines from the Mount Airy station were dispatched to investigate a fire alarm in a building on Hill Street at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday. They were out for five minutes.

Firefighters from Mount Airy responded for a call of flooding on Mill Bottom Road at 3:28 p.m. Tuesday. Brief but heavy afternoon rains stopped and the water quickly subsided. Fire units were out for 20 minutes.

The Mount Airy fire company responded for a report of a propane tank fire on Langdon Road at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday. Units were out for 30 minutes.
