Man with knife holds up Holiday Inn

A man with a knife held up a Glen Burnie hotel early yesterday morning, police reported.

Officers said the man walked into the Holiday Inn in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway at 1:20 a.m. and threatened the clerk with a knife. He grabbed money out of the cash register and walked the desk clerk outside before running across the parking lot toward Shelly Road.

Restaurant held up by man with gun

A man saying he had a gun robbed the Homestyle Family Buffet of an undisclosed amount of money Tuesday afternoon, county police said yesterday.

Investigators said the gunman walked into the restaurant in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway at 3:46 p.m. and told an employee there that he had a gun wrapped in the red shirt he was carrying.

He took money from the cash register and left the restaurant.

* Glen Burnie: Burglars broke into the Sunchasers tanning salon in the first block of Wellham Avenue about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and took money and other property valued at $220.

* Glen Burnie: Someone stole a television and other property from Doll's Barbershop in the 7400 block of Furnace Branch Road between 11 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The fTC value of the property was not known.

* Valley Brooks Apts.: A 33-year-old Glen Burnie woman told police someone snatched her purse Saturday afternoon as she was getting out of her car in the 100 block of Southbridge Drive about 12:35 a.m. The robber ran toward Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard.
