Larry Jo Bobbs, 46, of Germantown, Montgomery County, was charged yesterday with the December 1992 robbery of the Jo Ann Fabrics shop in the Westminster Shopping Center.

Mr. Bobbs is in the Anne Arundel Detention Center. He is charged with several similar robberies in that county, Montgomery County and Pennsylvania.

According to court documents, Mr. Bobbs went into the fabric shop and purchased a spool of thread, paid for it and left the store.

Within minutes, he returned to the shop and approached the cashier with two packages of tinsel in his hand, the documents said.

At that time he pointed a handgun at the cashier and escaped with $2,974.21 from a cash drawer, the court papers said.

Mr. Bobbs is charged with robbery, theft, robbery with a deadly weapon and using a handgun in the commission of a felony.

A similar robbery occurred at the Piece Goods store in the Crossroads Square Shopping Center last year. No charges have been filed in that case.
