BALTIMORE CITY

* SHOOTING: Central District -- A 29-year-old man is listed in serious condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the stomach and chest during an argument with an unknown man outside Uncle Lee's restaurant at Lombard and South streets about 2:30 a.m. Monday. After the shooting, the victim walked north on South Street to Holliday Street, where he spotted a policeman, who summoned an ambulance. The victim had attended a going-back-to-school party at the restaurant shortly before he was shot.

* BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone entered a house in the 1200 block of Beaumont Ave. over the weekend and stole a VCR, TV set, stereo receiver, a cassette deck and speakers.

* ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A deliverywoman for Pizza Paradise in the 600 block of S. Conkling St. was returning to her car after delivering an order to a house in the 5000 block of Wright Ave. Saturday night when a man asked her for a cigarette. When the woman reached into her jacket, the man demanded her money and jewelry. The woman complied out of fear and the unarmed man escaped with cash and property valued at more than $300.

* STOLEN CAR: Northeastern District -- A 1986 Mazda RX7 was stolen from the 6600 block of Pioneer Drive Sunday. The vehicle's tags were not known.

* BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- When the owner of Monarch Avalon Inc. in the 4500 block of Harford Road was riding past his business Saturday night he noticed a light on that had been off when he closed the business and called the police. When police went to the rear of the building they captured a man attempting to escape with property valued at $300. The man was being held at the station pending charges and a bail hearing.

* THEFT: Northeastern District -- Two lawn chairs and their cushions, all valued at $150, were stolen from the back yard of a house in the 2700 block of Chesterfield Ave. Sunday.

* THEFT: Northeastern District -- A 21-speed bike valued at nearly $400 was stolen from a house in the 2100 block of Dobler Ave. between Aug. 5 and Sunday.

* ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Police were seeking a man who struck a resident of the 3100 block of Evergreen Ave. in the face with a beer bottle during an incident at the woman's home Saturday night. The woman was treated at a hospital for lacerations and released.

* ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A teen-age resident of the 3500 block of The Alameda Circle was riding his bike in the 3500 block of Tivoly Ave. Sunday night when a man asked him if he could ride the bike. When the youth said no, the man knocked him to the pavement and stole the bike, valued at nearly $200.

* BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Two TV sets, a TV remote device, coins and a VCR, all valued at more than $700, were stolen from a house in the 5400 block of Todd Ave. over the weekend by someone who entered through a rear door.

* THEFT: Northeastern District -- Someone entered a house in the 4400 block of Loch Raven Blvd. Sunday afternoon and stole a VCR valued at $150.

* ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of Sparks, Baltimore County, was in the 100 block of W. Hill St. Saturday night when a gunman robbed her of her wallet containing $75. Later, police arrested a suspect in the case and were holding him at the station pending charges.

* ROBBERY: Southern District -- A man attempted to pull a resident of the first block of Dell Court in western Baltimore County from a car in the 2600 block of Marbourne Ave. early Sunday morning. When the victim, a woman, held onto the car's frame, the man stole her purse containing $50.

* ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 1100 block of Race St. was in the 1100 block of Leadenhall St. Sunday afternoon when three men, one with a handgun, robbed him of $40.

* ROBBERY: Southern District -- Police were seeking a man who robbed a resident of the 2400 block of Seabury Ave. of $4 after knocking the victim to the pavement in the 600 block of Cherry Hill Road Sunday afternoon.

* ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the first block of Badger Gate Court in western Baltimore County was in the 800 block of W. Lombard St. Sunday afternoon when two men stole her purse containing a small sum of money.

* ROBBERY: Western District -- A resident of the 3300 block of W. North Ave. was in the 1500 block of W. North Ave. Sunday when he was attacked by two men, one with a knife, who robbed him of less than $20. The victim was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment of a knife wound.

* PURSE SNATCHING: Western District -- Police were seeking two men who stole the purse of a resident of the 1000 block of W. Baltimore St. as she walked in the 800 block of W. Baltimore St. Sunday afternoon. The purse contained cash and property, all valued at more than $30.
