Man stabbed in chest while parting fighters

A Pasadena man was stabbed in the chest early Thursday as he was trying to separate two men who were fighting.

Police said the fight took place in the early morning hours in Freetown Village. Raymond Marvin Hall, 26, of the 7900 block of New Freetown Rd., was stabbed while trying to break up the fight.

The police did not know the identity of the men fighting or the exact location of the fight.

Mr. Hall did not immediately seek medical treatment, but went home and tried to bandage himself. He called paramedics about 12:45 p.m. and was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in fair and stable condition yesterday.

Man mugs woman for her car in Ames lot

County police are searching for a man reported to have threatened a woman with a broken bottle and to have stolen her car from the Ames store parking lot at Ritchie Highway and Jumpers Hole Road Saturday night.

Martina Reid, 26, of the 1200 block of N. Caroline St. in Baltimore, told police she was walking to her 1985 Chevrolet Spectrum just before 9 p.m. when the man approached her from behind and demanded her car.

Police said Ms. Reid was not injured.

* Downs Park: An undetermined amount of candy was stolen from the park concession stand between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.

* Pasadena: Several necklaces, a Rolex watch, expensive fountain pens and several pieces of furniture, all valued at $14,825, were stolen from an apartment in the 8100 block of Elmberry Court. The tenant told police he discovered the items missing Tuesday after three workers were placing new carpet in the apartment while he was at work.
