Greensboro holds off Hagerstown, 3-2

HAGERSTOWN -- The Greensboro Hornets jumped out to an early lead and held off a late Hagerstown rally to beat the Suns, 3-2, last night in a Single-A South Atlantic League game.

The Hornets (27-21) went ahead in the second as Nick Delvecchio hit a two-run home run. Kraig Hawkins followed with an RBI single that scored Scott Romano and put the Hornets up 3-0.

The Suns (28-21) scored two in the ninth as Sean Hern led off the inning with a double and then scored off of Angel Martinez' two-out, two-run home run.

Jim Musselwhite (3-3) got the win for the Hornets. Andy Dolson (8-10) was the losing pitcher for the Suns.
