Henry Pharoun, 92, a billionaire sportsman and hero of Lebanon's fight for independence, was found stabbed to death in his hotel bed Aug. 6, police said. Mr. Pharoun's bodyguard, Youssef Sorour, 45, was found near the bed, also fatally stabbed, said police, adding that they were investigating the killings in Beirut's Raouche district. Mr. Pharoun, who had a passion for horses and once boasted he owned the world's biggest stable of Arabian racers, lived for the past 18 months at Beirut's Carlton Hotel.
