Two financial firms relocate in Westminster

Donald A. Hiltner & Co. and Payroll Data Services have moved their offices to the Oldtown Offices building at 280 E. Main St. in Westminster.

L Both offices were located at 229 E. Main St. in Westminster.

Donald A. Hiltner & Co. is a public accounting firm owned by Donald A. Hiltner.

Payroll Data Services, owned by Deborah J. Hiltner, is a data processing firm providing payroll check writing and tax reporting services for small businesses.

Area insurance agent completes sales school

John A. Ferger, a Baltimore Life Insurance Co. agent in Westminster, recently graduated from the company's Sales Success School in Owings Mills.

Mr. Ferger was among 30 agents who learned about approaching clients and how to meet their insurance needs.

Students focused on Financial Need Analysis, a computerized program which helps agents analyze their clients' needs and design a program to meet those needs.

Local entrepreneur attends toy convention

Joanne Nealon of Finksburg has just returned from the international convention in San Francisco of Discovery Toys Inc.

She has been affiliated with the company for 2 1/2 years and oversees a group of consultants.

The program included seminars in child development, self-esteem and positive parenting combined with marketing and business management training.

Discovery Toys, headquartered in Martinez, Calif., is a designer and manufacturer of developmental toys, books and games for infants and children.

Cranberry Mall opens two new stores

Cranberry Mall has announced the opening of two new stores, Pretzels Plus and Hess KIDS Stride Rite.

Pretzels Plus opened on July 23 in the food court, replacing Sausage Plus. Pretzels are hand rolled and baked fresh.

Unusual toppings include garlic, cinnamon sugar, sour cream and onion, and others.

Hess KIDS Stride Rite opened on July 30 and is located near the Food Court. Hess Kids will have a grand opening celebration Saturday. The store sells children's shoes and accessories.
