Realty company posts record home sales

Annapolis-based Manis & Wright Realty reported posting record residential sales for the company for the first six months of 1993 and announced its top lister, top relocation specialist and top producers for the period.

Georgie Berkinshaw, Terry Hendricks and Michele Cordle were recognized as the top producers; Linda Best was named top relocation specialist; and Nan Macey was named top lister.

Residential manager named at Nevamar

Gary Gray has been named residential business manager, a newly created position at the Nevamar laminates division of International Paper.

Formerly a general product manager for Nevamar's Fountainhead Products line, Mr. Gray has extensive experience in the industry.

In his new position, he will head Nevamar's residential program.

PR chairwoman named to promote child group

Edgewater resident Tracey Walter has been appointed public relations chairwoman for Parents and Children Together (PACT), a nonprofit parent and child development organization based in Crofton.

Former branch manager for CDI Temporary Services Inc., Ms. Walter is currently an independent consultant for Discovery Toys Inc.

In her new role, Ms. Walter will be responsible for increasing awareness of PACT throughout the county.

Copywriter appointed by Gerard Co.

Helene Becker has joined the creative team at The Gerard Co., a Linthicum-based full service ad agency, as copywriter.

Previously, Ms. Becker was director of communications for AEI/TeleSonic in Annapolis.

County resident to help run club dining room

Steven Carter of Anne Arundel County has been hired by the Engineering Society of Baltimore as assistant food and beverage manager.

Previously manager at the Kent Manor Inn on the Eastern Shore, Mr. Carter will oversee food in the Engineers Club's dining room.

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn appoints new staff

O'Conor, Piper & Flynn Realtors recently welcomed new associates to its offices in Annapolis and Glen Burnie.

Joining the Annapolis Plaza office were John Ropella and Suzanne Gray. Mr. Ropella recently completed Fast Start, the company's real estate training course for new associates. Ms. Gray has several years of experience in the real estate field.

Realtor Joan D. Price joined the staff at the Glen Burnie office.
