Church burglarized, vandalized twice

Intruders struck twice in three days at the Grace Lutheran Church, 21 Carroll St. in Westminster last week, police said.

On Wednesday, officials of the church told authorities someone pried open a cash box and removed the envelopes from inside. The total loss was unknown, police were told.

On Friday, someone attempted to gain entry to the office by prying the door, officials said. Damage is estimated at $50.


* Westminster: A window of a house under construction on Greenbriar Court was shattered by someone shooting a BB gun Wednesday. Patton Contractors of Sykesville told police the loss is estimated at $400.

Patricia Ott of Carroll Street told police someone cut the screen of her residence in an attempt to steal an air conditioner Thursday. The damage loss is about $25.


* Westminster: Westminster firefighters were called to extinguish railroad ties along Liberty Street at 8:17 p.m. Sunday. They were out for 10 minutes.
