Woman escapes injury as truck rolls off Rt. 140

August 08, 1993

The use of a seat belt may have saved a 24-year-old driver from serious injury when the pickup truck she was driving overturned on Route 140 near Route 31 Friday.

Grace Rachael Clenny, of the 1300 block of Pleasant Valley Road, walked away from the overturned 1986 Chevrolet and returned with her boyfriend 30 minutes later.

Ms. Clenny told police she was driving west on Route 140 about 9:45 a.m. when the vehicle skidded on the rain-slick road, ran off the right side of the roadway and up an embankment, and overturned.

Cpl. Dave Hooper of the Westminster Police Department charged the woman with negligent driving.
