BALTIMORE CITY

* PURSE SNATCHING: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1800 block of Chilton St. was standing in line at the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in the 2900 block of Harford Road Tuesday when a man stole her purse containing an undisclosed sum of money and fled.

* SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 600 block of E. Lafayette Ave. was in the 4900 block of Goodnow Road Wednesday evening when he was shot in the chest by a man armed with a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun. The victim was taken to the Fracis Scott Key Medical Center and admitted in serious condition. No arrest had been made.

* ROBBERY: Central District -- Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a resident of the 1400 block of Madison Ave. of his money and watch, all valued at more than $100, in the 1300 block of McCulloh St. Wednesday night.

* RAPE: Western District -- A resident of the 2800 block of Roslyn Ave. was forced into a house in the 2600 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway Tuesday by two men, one with a handgun, who raped her and then robbed her of her wallet and $40. The men escaped. The woman was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center and released.

* ASSAULT: Western District -- A resident of the 1500 block of W. Fairmount Ave. was attacked inside her home Wednesday morning by a man who struck her several times with a chair. The man escaped and is being sought. The woman was not seriously injured.

* RAPE: Western District -- A gunman forced a resident of the 1900 block of Lauretta Ave. into a house in the 2100 block of W. Lafayette Ave. early Wednesday morning and raped her. The woman was treated at the University of Maryland Medical Center and released.

* SHOOTING: Western District -- A resident of the 1700 block of Mosher St. was walking in the 1000 block of Stockton St. #F Wednesday afternoon when he heard several gunshots. As the man was running away, he felt a pain in his lower back and saw blood coming from a wound. The man was taken to the University of Maryland Medical Center.

* ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 2100 block of Chelsea Terrace was in the 2000 block of Denison St. early Wednesday morning when a man placed an unknown hard object in her back and robbed her of jewelry valued at nearly $1,300.

* ROBBERY: Southern District -- A resident of the 2800 block of Carver Road was in the 600 block of Bridgeview Ave. Wednesday evening when a gunman robbed him of cash and property, all valued at nearly $60.

BALTIMORE COUNTY

* ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- A deliveryman for Pizza Bolis was delivering food to the occupants of a house in the 7100 block of Rolling Bend Road about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when the door opened, and two men robbed the victim of his money and food. One of the men may have been armed, police said. The victim returned to the pizza shop and reported the incident. A search failed to find any suspects.

* ROBBERY: Woodlawn District -- Two men, one with a small caliber handgun, robbed Adolph's service station in the 7400 block of Liberty Road about noon Wednesday and escaped with an undisclosed sum of money.
