Bear Stearns pair get fatter pay

Bear Stearns Cos. will pay Chairman Alan C. Greenberg and Chief Executive James E. Cayne more for the latest fiscal year than they received a year ago.

A company official, confirming a report in the Wall Street Journal, said Mr. Greenberg and Mr. Cayne will get pay packages of about $15.9 million each for fiscal 1993. They are getting fatter paychecks because Bear Stearns' 1993 earnings surged 23 percent to a record $362.4 million.
