Men posing as cab drivers rob couple

Anne Arundel County and Baltimore police are searching for two men who offered a Baltimore woman and her boyfriend a ride from the city to Glen Burnie Tuesday, then robbed them at gunpoint.

County police said the men, who posed as hackers, or unlicensed cab drivers, picked up the two about 4:30 p.m. on Annapolis Road near Waterview Avenue to take them to the Leedmark store in Glen Burnie.

The men drove south on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, but just before they reached the Baltimore Beltway interchange, the men pulled over, ordered the couple out of the car and robbed them of nearly $250 and an Independence food-stamp credit card. One man displayed a small, black revolver.

The two suspects, both described as having West Indian accents, were driving a four-door, burgundy sedan.

One is described as a black male, 35 to 40 years old, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, a thin build, with dark skin and dreadlocks. He was wearing a blue shirt and shorts with brown sandals.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 30 years old, between 5 feet 6 inches tall and 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a thin build, mustache, short hair and dark skin. He was wearing brown shorts and a shirt.
