13 county groups receive grants

Thirteen county organizations were awarded $60,000 in community grants to fight drug and alcohol abuse, County Executive Robert R. Neall announced yesterday.

Recipients of the community grants for fiscal year 1994 were selected from 30 applicants.

The grant money is made available through state funding to the county health department's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program.

Grant recipients are: the Harundale Youth and Family Center, $3,923; Bywater Boys and Girls Club, $5,800; Planning Action dTC Committee of South County, $10,000; Planning Action Committee of Anne Arundel County Inc., $5,128; Freetown Planning Action Committee, $3,880; People Against Child Abuse Inc., $6,000; Parents and Children Together Inc., $5,880; Maryland Alliance for Drug Free Youth, $2,069; Bywater Planning Action Committee, $3,880; Bay Ridge Gardens Planning Action Committee, $3,880; Allen Planning Action Committee, $3,880; Harbor House/Eastport Planning Action Committee, $3,880; Student Advisory Drug and Alcohol Council, $1,000.
