Teen accused of driving car into gun store

Anne Arundel County police have arrested a Forestville teen-ager and are searching for a Suitland man in the theft Sunday of a car that was driven through the front window of a gun store in Lothian Monday morning.

Police charged Kevin Greenwell, 16, of the 6400 block of Hillmar Drive in Forestville as an adult with breaking and entering, theft, carjacking, possession of a handgun, and destruction of property. They also issued an arrest warrant for Michael Q. Brown, 20, of the 2300 block of Brooks Drive in Suitland, who is charged with breaking and entering, theft, and destruction of property.

According to the police report, two men, who had been passengers in a yellow station wagon, stole a 1988 Chrysler early Sunday morning in Capitol Heights.

Police found the car about 3:30 a.m. Monday after it had been driven through the storefront of C & E J's Hunting and Fishing at 5476 Southern Maryland Blvd. in Lothian. About 15 semiautomatic handguns were taken from the store. A witness told police he saw a yellow station wagon with tinted windows leaving the scene.

Southern District officers issued a description of the yellow station wagon, which was found in a parking lot in Suitland by Prince George's County police, who said they saw someone driving off in the car about 4:30 a.m. and arrested Mr. Greenwell.

After Southern District police questioned Mr. Greenwell, they said they searched a house in Suitland and recovered five weapons valued at about $1,500.
