Laurel Beltsville Hospital appoints Weltz as president

Dr. Martin D. Weltz, a resident of Columbia, has been appointed president of the 478-member medical and dental staff at Greater Laurel Beltsville Hospital.

He is also vice chairman of the hospital's medical executive committee and a member of the board of directors for the hospital and its management company, Dimensions Health Corp.

Dr. Weltz received his D.O. from the University for the Health Sciences School of Medicine in Kansas City.

He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners for Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

The doctor is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Weltz is a partner with Hematology-Oncology Associates, which has offices in Greenbelt and Laurel.

Other newly elected medical staff officers are Dr. Luis Casas, vice president; and Dr. John J. Kishel, secretary/treasurer. Drs. John N. Margolis, Neil A. Meade and Dennis Schumer are members at large.
