SHOOTINGS: Eastern District -- Two men were shot about 5:30 a.m. yesterday at a playground in the 2000 block of E. Biddle St. near North Washington Street and were taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment. One of the men was reported in critical condition. At least one witness was taken to police headquarters. Details of the shootings were not immediately available.

CHURCH BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered the New Antioch Baptist Church in the 2400 block of St. Paul St. through a second-floor window Sunday and stole a microwave oven valued at $150.

ASSAULT: Northern District -- A resident of the 2800 block of W. Garrison Ave. was struck with a piece of cinder block during an incident with another man at his home Sunday. The victim was not seriously injured, and the other man escaped and is being sought.

THEFT: Northern District -- Someone stole a 26-inch bike from a resident of the 2500 block of Park Heights Terrace Sunday and then sold the bike for drugs. The thief is known to the bike's owner.

CARJACKING: Northern District -- A resident of the 5800 block of Jonquil Ave. was in Druid Hill Park Sunday night when three men, one known to her, threatened her with a handgun and stole her 1993 Ford Probe with Maryland license plates XZS565.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A compact disc player and jewelry were stolen from a house in the first block of E. 33rd St. Sunday night by someone who entered through a kitchen window.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Southwestern District -- Police arrested a resident of the 200 block of Millington Ave. after he shot an arrow at a woman during an incident at her home in the 2600 block of Dulany St. Sunday evening. The woman was not injured. Police said the man was to be charged with assault with intent to murder, possession of a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment.

ROBBERY TRY: Southwestern District -- A resident of the first block of Flaxton Court was walking in the 900 block of N. Franklintown Road Sunday night when four men attempted to rob her. The woman resisted and fled the scene without being robbed.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Southwestern District -- Police arrested a man who struck a resident of the 3900 block of Twin Circle Way in the head with an unknown object during an incident Sunday in the 500 block of Eastlynne Ave.

ASSAULT: Southwestern District -- A resident of the 3700 block of Forest Park Ave. is listed in poor condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center after a man struck him several times with a baseball bat during an incident in the 1500 block of Poplar Grove St. Sunday.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Property valued at nearly $500 was stolen from a house in the 2900 block of Washington Blvd. between Saturday and Sunday by someone who entered through a door.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone entered a house in the 2100 block of Crimea Road with a key between Saturday and Sunday and stole a gold watch and a pager, all valued at nearly $900.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- Someone entered a 1990 Chevrolet pickup parked in the 3800 block of Gough St. between Saturday and Sunday and stole tools valued at nearly $700.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A couple from the 100 block of S.Beechfield Ave. was walking in the 4200 block of Frederick Road Sunday night when two men robbed them of cash, jewelry and other property, all valued at more than $1,000.

THEFT: Southeastern District -- A 1985 Honda was parked in the 100 block of N. Front St. Sunday when someone entered it and stole an equalizer and speakers, all valued at nearly $400.

CUTTING: Southeastern District -- A 42-year-old resident of the 400 block of N. Curley St. was arguing with another man near his home Sunday evening when he was stabbed in the forearm with a steak knife. The armed man escaped, and the victim was

treated at the Francis Scott Key Medical Center and released.

PURSE SNATCHING: Western District -- A resident of the 1600 block of N. Smallwood St. was walking in the 1300 block of W. North Ave. Sunday when two men stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $80.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a house in the 1300 block of W. North Ave. through a rear window Sunday and stole an air conditioner, a 19-inch TV set and a 13-inch TV set, all valued at $800.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Police were seeking a former tenant of a house in the 2000 block of N. Fulton Ave. who entered the property between Saturday and Sunday and stole )) two air conditioners and a refrigerator, all valued at nearly $700.

ROBBERY TRY: Northwestern District -- A resident of the 5200 block of Wilton Heights Ave. was in the 5200 block of Park Heights Ave. Sunday evening when a gunman grabbed a pouch he was wearing around his waist. When the pouch fell to the pavement, a struggle broke out. During the struggle, the victim grabbed the weapon from the man, forcing him to flee.
