New positions

* MCI Communications Corp., the Washington-based communications company, has appointed Gary Parsons executive vice president. He joined MCI in 1990 as vice president of corporate and public policy and will assume additional duties providing systems and network engineering support to the company's operating business units.

Huber Chemicals India Limited, of Bombay, India, has appointed T. V. Krishnamurthy as president. The Chemicals Division of J. H. Huber Corp., a supplier of synthetic silicas, silicates and other specialty chemicals, has laboratories and headquarters in Havre Grace. Mr. Krishnamurthy was formerly with Procter & Gamble India Limited for 12 years and was responsible for export and flavor chemicals businesses. HCIL is a joint venture of the Huber Chemicals Division.

* Church Hospital, an acute-care facility within the Church Home and Hospital system, has named Michael C. Tillman vice president. He has been director of nursing since 1989.

* Godfrey Advertising, located in Lancaster, Pa., has named Danny Miller as vice president and group leader. Before joining the agency in 1986, Mr. Miller held numerous sports marketing/public relations positions with the Hershey Bears and the Philadelphia Phillies.

* Waldinger/Birch Inc., a Baltimore-based advertising and public relations firm, has named Melodie L. Jackson an account associate and staff writer. * Tissue Banks International has appointed Philip A. Felton director of multi-tissue operations for the national nonprofit network of medical eye and tissue banks based in Baltimore. TBI's multi-tissue program recovers bone, muscle, heart valves and other human tissues for life-saving and transplant procedures.

* The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions has announced that Edward K. Kasper, M.D., has been named assistant professor of

medicine and

medical director of the cardiomyopathy and heart transplant service.

Maryland Health Systems has appointed Mark I. Feldman vice president of marketing and planning. Maryland Health Systems includes Maryland General Hospital, Maryland General Care ,X Centers, General Home Health Agency and the Maryland General Clinical Practice Group.
