Man steals car from teen-ager in supermarket loading zone

A 17-year-old was robbed of a 1993 Dodge as she sat in the loading zone of the Giant Food store at Ritchie Highway and Mountain Road on Monday.

According to a police report, Heather Burmeister of the 8100 block of Holly Road was waiting for a friend and sitting in the passenger seat of the Dodge Shadow at 8:56 p.m. The engine was running and the doors were unlocked.

A man got into the driver's side of the car and showed her a knife, the police report said. He did not say anything to her and she got out of the car before he drove off, police said.

She described the man as white and "dirty looking," with a mustache. He was wearing a red, white and blue stripped hat; a white Philadelphia Eagles shirt with a large eagle on the front, and jeans. He was about 5 feet 9 inches tall and in his

mid-30s.
