New positions

* Anne Arundel Community College named Andrew L. Myer dean of continuing education/extended learning programs.

* The Beth El Synagogue elected John P. Abosch second vice president of the Katz, Abosch, Windesheim, Gershman & Freedman accounting firm.

* Clyde's Restaurant Group named Thomas C. England general manager of Clyde's of Columbia and The Tomato Palace. Also, Kenneth F. Clay was named executive chef at Clyde's of Columbia.

* CSX Transportation Inc. named Jack Piatak chief environmental officer and Katherine E. Wilson chief quality officer.

Earle L. Weaver, a Baltimore native and graduate of the Gilman School, has been appointed president of the Fusite Division of Emerson Electric Co. Fusite is a Cincinnati-based worldwide manufacturer of hermetic electric terminal assemblies for refrigeration and air conditioning compressors.

* Greenhorne & O'Mara Inc., a Greenbelt-based multidisciplinary consulting design firm which provides services in engineering, planning, architecture, environmental sciences, surveying and photomapping, named Lynne P. Robinson department head of Environmental Assessment Studies.

* McCormick & Co. Inc., the international producer of spices, seasonings, flavorings and specialty foods, announced the following appointments: Thomas A. Barry, vice president and general manager of the Ingredients Unit; Charles W. Brown, director of MIS Strategic Planning; P. Paige Minardi, credit manager of Grocery and James E. Thompson manager of Technology & Network Systems.

* The PHH Corporation appointed Lachman J. Balchandani vice president of Information Technology Services and Terry A. Fowble controller. * Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf, Hendler & Sameth, a Baltimore-based law firm, named F. Kirk Kolodner senior associate.

* Coopers & Lybrand, an international accounting and consulting firm, named Karen L. Kratzer tax senior associate.

* The Campbell Group, a full service advertising agency specializing in the hospitality and travel industry with offices in Baltimore and New York, appointed Mary Ann Treger vice president/account supervisor at its Baltimore office. * Harbor Hospital Center announced the following appointments: Charles Bednar, employee relations coordinator; Richard Tsao, assistant director of pharmacy and Sue Ellen Wilson, occupational therapist.

* Henning & Cole Therapy Associates, an occupational therapy practice with centers in Baltimore and Harford counties, named Gretchen M. Moeller speech language pathologist.
