* The Board of Anne Arundel County Commissioners, acting at the request of the Oysterman's League, went on record as opposed to a proposal to rehabilitate the oyster industry by farming out oyster beds under government control and plans. -- The Sun, July 1, 1943.

xTC * The first child care center in Anne Arundel County opened at Brooklyn Park School for children 6 to 14 years of age whose mothers are working in the war effort. Twenty-one children are attending. -- The Sun, July 7, 1943.

* The Glen Burnie Carnival will open this weekend with an emphasis in each booth on war bond sales. Governor Herbert R. O'Conor is expected to be in attendance. A new feature will give visitors an opportunity to send packages of cigarettes to members of the Armed Services. Each 5-cent contribution will send a package to those at war. -- The Sun, July 29, 1943.
