Crosby firm wins competition

Crosby Communications Inc., an Annapolis marketing communications business, recently was tapped to design a logo and letterhead package for the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corp., the newly-privatized economic development agency for the county.

Crosby was chosen from 26 entrants in a competition sponsored by the former Anne Arundel County Office of Economic Development to create the image program for the new corporation.

'Take the Lead' aims at retaining businesses

The county has been chosen as one of two counties in Maryland to test a business retention program initiated by the Maryland Business Council.

The program, "Take the Lead," will consist of officers of Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. of Maryland, Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., and First National Bank of Maryland uncovering issues that might affect continued business health and growth while making calls on companies.

Schools benefit from chamber program

The Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber has launched a cooperative program to match the needs of schools with goods and services provided by chamber members.

Nineteen businesses and organizations have signed up for the program so far, benefiting 16 schools by providing tutors, speakers, signs and recycling assistance.

Information: 725-3228.

Annapolis-based publishing firm Platinum has received the Award for Communications Excellence for the company's work on the 1992-1993 Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber Membership Directory.

The award is given by the Communications Council of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives.
