Lake Shore recycling center closes

The county Department of Public Works has closed the recycling center at Lake Shore Plaza because its use fell dramatically after residential curbside collection expanded into Pasadena.

The county has a new recycling center, which will be open every third Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the parking lot behind the Hi-Gear store in the Southgate Plaza on Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie.

County officials consider the new location more convenient to apartment dwellers and residents of other multifamily buildings that do not receive curbside service.

Residents may call the recycling office at 222-6103 for more information.
