Heritage Society plans house and garden tour

The Elkridge Heritage Society's annual House and Garden Tour will be held on Sept. 4.

The agenda for this year's tour includes an early 18th century house and restored garden on Old Columbia Road; an architectural treasure and garden on Norris Lane; an early 20th century house and garden in Halethorpe and a contemporary home on Bellanca Drive.

A rest stop is set at Brumbaugh House on Main Street, where refreshments will be served.

Buses will depart from Elkridge National Bank parking lot, 7290 Montgomery Road, at 2 p.m. and return at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 and must be purchased in advance. * Elkridge: 5400 block of Levering Avenue: A mailbox was smashed and a $350 silver-colored canoe was stolen from a yard between midnight Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday.

* Ellicott City: 9200 block of Route 40: Someone stole a $22 wallet, which contained a Maryland's driver's license, a University of Maryland Baltimore County identification card and a Choice Visa card, from a purse between 1 p.m. July 12 and noon Sunday.

9500 block of Joey Drive: Someone stole five plants valued at $8 each and two fish valued at $30 from a front yard between 11 p.m. July 9 and 10 a.m. July 10.

9200 block of Marydell Road: Someone climbed a fence at Saint John's Swim and Tennis Club between 9 p.m. July 9 and noon July 10, and stole a $15 bag from the pool area. The bag contained $35 worth of clothing, $15 worth of swimming equipment, and checkbooks and checks.
