ALBANY, Ga. -- The Hagerstown Suns defeated the Albany (Ga.) Polecats, 7-2, in the opener of a four-game Single-A South Atlantic League series yesterday.

The Suns (15-10) scored three runs in the first inning, two on a single by Angel Martinez. Hagerstown added four more in the fifth against the Orioles' Single-A affiliate Polecats (13-11).

Each Hagerstown starter had at least one hit, led by Jose Herrera and Ricky Cradle, who each had two. The two hits by Herrera gives him 34 multi-hit games this season.
