Cable program 'The Writing Life' to feature children's authors

"The Writing Life," produced by the Howard County Poetry and Literature Society, will present an encore presentation of "The Writing Life: Choi and Naylor" on Comcast Cable Eight at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Mondays during July.

Michael Dirda, Children's Book Editor for the Washington Post, will be the host of the program featuring children's book writers Sook Nyul Choi and Phyllis Naylor.

Ms. Choi is the author of "The Years of Impossible Goodbyes," a novel for young adults depicting life in Japanese-occupied Korea. The sequel, "Echoes of the White Giraffe," has since been published.

Ms. Naylor has written more than 60 books for young people, including "The Keeper," "The Agony of Alice," "Beetles, Lightly Toasted" and "Shiloh," the winner of the 1992 Newbery Medal for children's literature.
