Winners of the 10th annual Maryland J. C. Penney Golden Rule Volunteer Awards are Nancy J. Carter of Howard County; David L. Goldfaden of Anne Arundel County, Fred "Boots" Dvorak of Baltimore County; Ebony Kelly of Baltimore, and Brent Marsh of Queen Anne's County. Finalists are Dorothy Hawkins of Baltimore County; Margaret B. Ulle of Anne Arundel County; John M. Gummer of Baltimore County; Julius Henson of Baltimore City; Grace Blancett of Howard County; Jane Andrew of Anne Arundel County and Karina Vaysburd of Baltimore County.

Savannah C. Jones, director of records and registration at Essex Community College, and Debbie Rosen McKerrow, coordinator of public information service at Essex Community College, were chosen to participate in the "Leaders" program, an international leadership training program for community college women administrators.

Melissa "Missy" Deckman of Street, a senior at St. Mary's College of Maryland, has received the Edythe Portz Award as the "Honors Student of the Year" in Maryland.

The following students at Dundalk Community College have been included in the 1993 edition of "Who's Who Among Students In American Junior Colleges": Richard Benton and Wanda DiPangrazio, of Baltimore; Aleasha Dowdey, of Dundalk; Marie Gellert, of Baltimore; Mary Ann Go of Essex; Barbara Healy of Towson; John Oswald of Catonsville and Larry Shinaberry of Dundalk.

Crystal Weaver has been selected as the 1993-94 Poster Child for the Maryland Chapter of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

Two Towson State students received awards at TSU's College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences honors convocation in April. Eugene George Marquard of Clifton is the recipient of the American Institute of Chemists, District of Columbia Section, Outstanding Senior Award for 1993. Ross Sugar of Baltimore received a CRC Press Freshman Chemistry Achievement Award.

Dr. Lee E. Gresser of Walnutwood Circle and Dorsey F. Butterbaugh of Britmore Court were presented with the Meritorious USPS Life Saving Award by the United States Power Squadrons at the National Governing Board Meeting in Philadelphia. Both are members of the Sue Island Power Squadron.

Lisa Matarazzo, a sophomore at The Catholic High School of Baltimore, won the Maryland Division of the All-American Teen Pageant.

Roxanne Woel, a senior at Notre Dame Preparatory School, was named a finalist in the National Achievement Scholarship Program for Outstanding Negro Students.

Anna Andersen of Hampden, a junior at Towson State University, is the recipient of the 1993 Joyce C. Neubert Award in

Mathematics.
