Yannuzzi will coach soccer

July 16, 1993|By Pat O'MALLEY

Former Severna Park softball coach Paul Yannuzzi, who led the Falcons to the State 4A Championship in 1987, has been chosen to be girls' soccer coach at Arundel High.

Yannuzzi moved to Arundel a couple years ago to head the science department and served as an assistant in softball in 1992. He succeeds Greg Helms as the Wildcat girls' soccer coach. Helms transferred to North County High.

In winning the State softball championship in '87, Yannuzzi led the Falcons to a 18-4 record.

"I don't believe Paul has ever coached soccer, but he has proven himself as a coach and should do an excellent job," Arundel athletic director Bernie Walter said.

Christine Fellona will be the assistant coach.
