4 hurt in 2 traffic accidents are improving

Four Carroll County residents who were seriously injured in two accidents Wednesday remained in trauma centers in Baltimore yesterday, but their conditions have been upgraded.

Sheila Dawn Garst, 32, of New Windsor, was listed in serious but stable condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. She was involved in a three-vehicle collision at Route 140 and Sandymount Road.

Her daughters, Samantha, 2, and Danielle, 6, were listed in good condition at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Children's Center.

Mary Emily Cosden, 20, of the 2200 block of Carrollton Road, was listed in serious condition at the Shock Trauma Center. Her Toyota Celica ran off Dutrow Road and struck a utility pole.
