FACTS AND FIGURES

Rules: Each player will have 10 outs to hit as many home runs as possible. Any swing that does not result in a home run is an out.

Last year: The American League won, 27-13, with Mark McGuire of Oakland tying a Home Run Derby record of 12 home runs set by the Orioles' Cal Ripken in Toronto in 1991.

Series: The National League holds a 4-3 advantage since the Derby began in 1985. Workout day was rained out in 1990.
