* Kings Contrivance: 10300 block of Champion Way: A red 1989 Ford Taurus was stolen between late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

7400 block of Setting Sun Way: The car alarm of a white 1990 Isuzu truck apparently scared away a would-be thief who broke in through a passenger-side window late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.

* Owen Brown: 9500 block of Berger Road: A 1986 Peron flatbed trailer with Maryland tag 023378G was stolen between July 2 and July 5.

1140 block of Route 32: The rear passenger-side tire of a Ford was slashed early last week while it was parked in a driveway.

* Oakland Mills: 7200 block of Cradlerock Way: A patrol officer scared away two suspects who entered an unlocked storage shed at the Lornwood Child Development Center. The officer, who was drawn to the area by noise, saw two people running from the center and toys scattered on the ground.
