GAMBRILLS -- A small single-engine plane that apparently ran out of fuel made an emergency landing in a soybean field off Davidsonville Road about 12:30 p.m. yesterday. Both the pilot and his passenger escaped unharmed.
The plane, a Swift, was not damaged. The pilot, Ludlow "Pete" King, 51, of Annandale, Va., and his passenger, Geri Schultz, 43, of College Park, were trying to get gas and possibly take off again, police said.
