* Carroll County is preparing to initiate two new sewer service projects. Requests for the necessary funds have already been favorably reviewed by the Regional Planning Council. According to Del. Jacob M. Yingling, one project, to serve the Sykesville-Eldersburg area, will cost over $2.5 million. The Mt. Airy project will cost more than $1 million. -- Democratic Advocate, June 27, 1968.

* The Westminster High School safe was stolen some time last night by unknown thieves. The safe weighed 600 pounds and contained about $30 in cash and some important papers. The location of the school is outside of the city limits with no properties in close proximity. The authorities are making an investigation. -- Democratic Advocate, June 25, 1943.

* The Gypsy Tour to Harpers Ferry last Sunday by the local motor cyclists proved an enjoyable affair. Very little trouble occurred to mar the pleasure of the tourists and the Ferry was reached in good time. State roads were encountered and the roads near Harpers Ferry have been improved. After partaking of lunch and viewing the beautiful scenery, the home run was made without incident except to repair a leaky tire on the captain's machine. -- Union Bride Pilot, June 28, 1918.

* A very good photograph of the Board of County School Commissioners and the Examiner and Assistant has been taken by our accomplished photographer, Mr. J. W. Baldwin, for exhibition in the educational exhibit at the Columbian Exposition. It represents the board in session in its office, and considering the defective light and the shortness of range afforded by the room, it is a very creditable piece of work. -- American Sentinel, July 1, 1893.
