Bowie rained out doubleheader set for tonight

July 03, 1993

Persistent rainfall and an outfield already muddy from absorbing too much water forced the Bowie Baysox to postpone their scheduled Eastern League game against New Britain last night.

The game was rescheduled as part of a doubleheader tonight at Memorial Stadium, starting at 6:05 p.m.

"It was very, very wet," said Baysox manager Don Buford. "In right field, the water was over your shoe tops. If they had pulled the tarp, it would have taken at least a half-hour afterward. Then, if it rained at all during the game, it would have been impossible."

Buford said his pitching rotation would remain in order with Rick Krivda and Jose Mercedes going tonight.

Also postponed was the scheduled appearance of Morganna, which was re-set for Thursday, July 29.
