Milwaukee Brewers -- Assigned P Kelly Wunsch to Single-A Beloit and P Pat Fetty to Single-A Stockton.

Minnesota Twins -- Activated OF Gene Larkin from the 15-day DL. Placed OF Pedro Munoz on the 15-day DL with torn cartilage in his left knee.

New York Mets -- Activated 3B Howard Johnson. Optioned IF Doug Saunders to Triple-A Norfolk. Agreed to terms with P Eric Ludwick, who was selected in the June draft, and assigned him to Single-A Pittsfield.

Philadelphia Phillies -- Released P Mark Davis. Recalled P Mike Williams from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

San Diego Padres -- Assigned P Jeff Brown to Triple-A Las Vegas. Signed OF Ken Powell to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga contract.

Texas Rangers -- Placed IF Mario Diaz on the 15-day DL. Activated IF Jeff Huson from the 15-day DL.

Basketball Atlanta Hawks -- Signed G Craig Ehlo to a three-year contract.

Colleges Clemson -- Announced the retirement of baseball coach Bill Wilhelm.

Hawaii Pacific -- Signed men's basketball coach Tony Sellitto to a five-year contract.

West Georgia -- Announced the resignation of football coach Ron Jurney, who will become AD at Millsaps College. Named Charlie Fisher football coach.

Football NFL -- Upheld the trade of LB Wilber Marshall by the Washington Redskins to the Houston Oilers. Reduced the draft compensation due to the Redskins from first- and fifth-round draft picks in 1994 to a third-round pick in 1994 and a fifth-round pick in 1995.

Houston Oilers -- Signed DE Brad Hunter.

New Orleans Saints -- Signed TE Frank Wainright to a two-year contract and NT Ronnie Dixon to a three-year contract.

Hockey St. Louis Blues -- Extended the contract of VP and GM Ron Caron through June 1995.
